Echoes of Amber was composed for Noah Getz. The electronic part in this piece is made up of two groups of recordings: the first sounds are layered recordings of Noah playing multiphonics. The other sounds in the piece all come from recordings I made while on a trip to India over Christmas 2008. The title comes from the specific place in India that these recordings were made: the Amber Fort in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Bearing some resemblance to Harold in Italy, the introspective solo sax part wanders through the textures of the electronic music, encountering various sounds of Rajasthan alongside its own distinct voice.
