About:

mellifluously Fresh out of graduate school with newly minted doctorate in-hand, I moved to Washington, DC in the late summer of 2008 to start a new job at Catholic University. Signals was the first piece I completed while living in DC. The kinetic energy of Signals – marked by a nearly constant driving pulse and frantic melodic writing – bears the stamp of the excitement of new beginnings: in my case, a new city, a new music scene, and a new job. Signals was composed for the NOW Ensemble, and is dedicated to my friend Ryan Sarsfield.
