Catching Up

http://childpsychiatryassociates.com/treatment-team/sheila_pottebaum-200/ It has been over a year since I posted any updates on this site, but what a busy year it’s been! Last spring, I pivoted out of my academic position at Catholic University to focus completely on arts administration in the nonprofit world. It was a big change, but after 16 years in academia, where I earned tenure and served as department chair, and mentored both undergraduate and graduate students, I was ready for something new. I have loved developing Little City Concerts these past three years into the 501(c)(3) nonprofit it is at present! My amazing community of Falls Church City gets a big shoutout here for supporting me on this journey. I also started a position last spring as Executive and Artistic Director of Amadeus Concerts, a series that’s been presenting concerts in the DC area for over 40 years. Getting to work with an org with such deep roots in the local arts sector has been an amazing learning experience. I’m also still active composing: my new string quartet, Migration, was premiered this past April on our final Little City Concerts event by Arlington’s 9th Street Quartet. Their performance of the whole program was riveting, and I was deeply grateful for the care they showed to my latest and greatest. I hope to be able to share that video in a few weeks, so stay tuned!
